When It Comes To Parenting, Kim Kardashian Speaks For Us All (No, Really)

"You just have to wing it."

You might not think you have all that much in common with Kim Kardashian West, but I’m here to let you in on a little secret. When it comes to being a mum, she’s – whisper it – “winging it”, just like the rest of us.

Hard to believe, I know. Particularly when you consider that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality TV star, model and businesswoman is worth a reported $350m, according to Forbes.

She’s also married to rapper Kanye West – the couple have three children together: North, five, Saint, three, and Chicago, 14 months.

In December Kardashian, 38, let slip that the couple are expecting their fourth child together via a surrogate. She has also recently revealed her plan to become a lawyer in 2022, after a four-year apprenticeship.

She’s clearly super-busy, as well as being super-rich and super-successful, but it’s heartening to hear how she copes with the everyday trials of parenting – simply by crossing her fingers and hoping for the best. Preach.

Kardashian told Vogue magazine, as part of its 73 Questions video series, the answer to successful child-rearing.

“You just have to wing it,” she said. “My sisters and I are in a group chat, always getting parenting advice.”

And her husband, who was in the room while she did the interview, joked: “They don’t get advice from me — can I get on that chat, please?”

Kardashian said the biggest thing her parents taught her was that “family is everything”.

And the best part of being a mum? “When the kids tell you they love you”, reported People.

It’s strangely comforting to know that even celebrity parents are making it up as they go along.  Amen to that.
