Now, here's something you don't see every day!
A party of canoeists on Australia's Gold Coast took on board an unexpected extra passenger when they encountered a koala taking a dip in the creek.
"We were thinking it was going to drown, so my mate behind me just grabbed him and put him straight in the boat," Outrigger Canoe Club member Julie Elliot told Nine News.
You can watch Julie's camera footage in this YouTube video - although, be warned, it does understandably go a bit haphazard once the koala's in the boat.
We should also just add that it's never really a good idea to meddle with koalas, as they can turn pretty vicious. Truth be told, Julie and her mates should have left him in the water: if he managed to swim out to the boat, chances are he could swim back. Still, it's easy to be wise after the event, isn't it?
Anyway, you'll be relieved to hear that the group successfully released their new friend on an embankment near some nice gum trees. So everyone's happy! Marvellous!
