Kylie Minogue was met with a rapturous reception as she closed the show at Brighton Pride on Saturday night.
The Spinning Around singer has been on tour in the UK (and select European shows) since the end of June, including her critically-acclaimed set in the “Legends” slot at Glastonbury.
While the show hasn’t changed much since her victorious Glasto performance, Kylie did make a few tweaks for her Brighton Pride appearance, all of which went down a storm at the celebratory LGBTQ event.
Most notably, Glastonbury viewers might remember the on-stage wedding which took place during her rendition of Especially For You, in a nod to her Neighbours character’s nuptials back in the 1980s.
When she performed the ballad during her Brighton set, the bride and groom were switched for two men.
Incidentally, Neighbours recently held their first same-sex wedding, which also featured a rendition of Especially For You as the couple walked down the aisle, in a nod to the long-running Australian soap’s history.
She also made a surprise addition to the setlist, performing arguably her campest song, Your Disco Needs You, as a surprise to her fans, which they were very pleased about…
In fact, the whole show was pretty much a triumph…
Also among the performers at Brighton Pride this year were chart-topping pop group Clean Bandit, X Factor singer Fleur East and rising star Alice Chater, who opened the show.
There was also a surprise performance from singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé, who had not previously been announced as being on the line-up.
Brighton Pride continues today with performances from Jessie J and Grace Jones, among others.
