Lady Gaga has seemingly confirmed her engagement to her agent, Christian Carino.
The singer casually referred to him as her “fiancé” during a speech at the Elle Women in Hollywood event in LA on Monday.
Their engagement had long been speculated given Gaga has been wearing a giant sparkler on her ring finger for many months now, but she has never publicly confirmed anything.
However, in her speech, she said: “Thank you to all the loved ones in my life. [Manager] Bobby [Campbell], I love you. Everyone at table five. My fiancé, Christian. All the loved ones in my life who take care of me every day. And Ryan Murphy, thanks for giving me my first leading role [in ‘American Horror Story: Hotel]’. You know that Golden Globe belongs to you.”
Gaga, 32, and Christian, 49, were first romantically linked in January 2017, later spotted looking close while on the field ahead of her Super Bowl LI halftime show the following month.
The ‘Bad Romance’ singer was previously engaged to her on-off partner of four years, Taylor Kinney, until they called things off for good in 2016.
In a post on Instagram at the time, she said: “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates.
“Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared.”
Gaga, who is currently receiving huge plaudits for her performance in ‘A Star Is Born’, later opened up about her new-found love for Christian in an interview with Page Six last year, saying: “The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”
As well as Gaga, Christian also looks after other big stars including Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Lopez.
