Lady Nadia Essex Says 'Celebs Go Dating' Suspension Has Left Her At 'Rock Bottom'

"I’ve been told I am the most hated woman in Britain."

Former ‘Celebs Go Dating’ consultant Lady Nadia Essex has given her first interview since being axed from the show.

Earlier this month, Channel 4 confirmed that Nadia had been suspended from her regular role on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ over her “improper use of social media”.

Breaking her silence on the subject, she told The Sun she was at “rock bottom” since her departure.

Acknowledging that she was axed when she used fake accounts to post about her co-star Eden Blackman, she said: “I wasn’t allowed to speak out as myself because I was warned to keep quiet. I felt like I wasn’t allowed my freedom of speech and was told not to put out a public statement.

“I was in completely the wrong headspace. I was a mess. I couldn’t leave the house because I was terrified people would hurl abuse at me in the street.”

Discussing the negative reaction she’s had in recent weeks, she continued: “I am at rock bottom… I have had suicidal thoughts from the mountain of abuse I have received. I’ve been told to kill myself.

“Looking back on it now, I didn’t deal with it in the right way, I know that. I’ve been called a fat ugly bitch on a daily basis. I’ve been told to kill myself. I’ve been told I am the most hated woman in Britain.”

Shortly before Nadia’s suspension, Eden Blackman left ‘Celebs Go Dating’ after four series, amid reports of an on-set feud.

Production on the impending fifth series was still underway when both Eden and Nadia left the show, with famous participants on the upcoming run including former ‘Love Island’ contestants Eyal Booker and Olivia Attwood, ‘TOWIE’ cast member Chloe Sims and ex-Sugababes singer Mutya Buena.

Also taking part are ‘Gogglebox’ star Amy Tapper and Diversity dancer Sam Craske.

Tom Read Wilson is also returning, with his role in the show having been bumped up from receptionist to junior client coordinator in the lead-up to the fourth series earlier this year.
