Larry the Downing Street cat took four months to catch his first rodent - and now his status as chief mouser is under threat again with the news that the prime minister was forced to take tackling mice into his own hands at a recent dinner.
David Cameron reportedly threw cutlery at a mouse which interrupted a gathering at Number 10 with fellow ministers Iain Duncan Smith and Owen Paterson.
Duncan Smith is said to have asked: "Where's Larry when you need him?" but sadly Larry was asleep.
The incident comes shortly after Downing Street was forced to defend Larry from anonymous briefing about his predatory instinct.
