Lena Dunham is on the cover of American Vogue'sFebruary issue this month and it's a huge deal. But it turns out the 27 year-old actress has already appeared in the magazine.
In fact, Dunham was just 11 years-old when she made her Vogue debut, for a feature on "a New York pack of fashion-conscious kids".
The feature was published in 1998, but Dunham's photo didn't make the cut. Was she gutted? Yes, in her interview with Nathan Heller for the February issue, Dunham tells the magazine that she'd always wanted to grow up to be a fashion designer.
Vogue reports that it was a fellow student who was pictured in the 1998 feature. Jemima Kirke appeared wearing "a pair of seventies patchwork trousers worn low-slung, a cashmere sweater from a flea market, and Adidas sneakers."
Back then the two were strangers but after clocking her at school afterwards, Dunham made sure they were introduced. The rest is history - Dunham and Kirke now co-star in the HBO series Girls and couldn't be closer.
The best bit? Lena has been wooed by Anna Wintour and is officially in her fashion clique. She finally has her Vogue cover.
