The BBC are keeping the final episode of 'Line Of Duty' under wraps to avoid any spoilers leaking ahead of the police drama concluding on Wednesday night.

Most cast and crew members don't know how the BBC Two series will end - and that even extends to the BBC's director general, Tony Hall.

"I am completely hooked on Line of Duty at the moment," he said. "I have actually asked if I can have recordings of the end of the series, but like everybody else I have to wait."

However, one of the few people who does know how the second series concludes is Keeley Hawes, who plays DI Lindsay, and even she couldn't keep it a secret from her husband, actor Matthew Macfadyen.

“Matthew knows what happens and he wishes he didn’t. I haven’t told anyone else, he is the only one,” she admitted.

The series has been a huge hit for the BBC with viewing figures increasing week-on-week to a series high of 2.63m for episode five last week.

Viewers have been glued to the drama about corruption in the police force that led to the murder of four officers and a witness.

The final episode will finally unveil who is behind it all (and no, we don't know either).

The final episode of series two airs tonight (March 19) on BBC Two at 9pm.
