A 64-year-old lollipop man has been told by his local council to stop high-fiving children because of health and safety issues.
Roger Green has been ordered to stop greeting children at Sandy Lane Primary School in Bracknell, Berkshire, with a friendly hand slap on the grounds it is 'dangerous'.
"I have to follow what my boss says, but it is a harmless piece of fun and all the children like it," bemused Roger told The Sun.
Parents branded the council's stance as crazy, with one mum saying that Roger's high-fives make the kids' day.
Bracknell Forest Borough Council however said that Roger's actions put him and the kids at risk.
"Children stopping as they cross the road for a 'high-five' puts them and the patrolman at risk and confuses drivers," the spokesperson said. "Parents wouldn't thank us if we let this continue."
