London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014: Emilia Wickstead

London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014: Emilia Wickstead
|

Make no mistake, Emilia Wickstead is a talent - a designer who more than deserves the success she's had over the past few years while building her eponymous brand.

But her Autumn/Winter 2014 collection? Not a showcase of styles we'd square with the designer. This had edge. This had dare. There was a snake-skin coat, for goodness sake.

Here's what you need to know:

1. Don't expect the usual pastel, dreamy palette to take centre stage if you're investing in Wickstead AW14 - this collection is much more about print and texture.

2. Socks + metallic ankle strap shoes = why Wickstead girls won't be worrying about tights next season.

3. Looks are film noir-esque and smouldering - Wickstead's models were like something out of a Raymond Chandler novel made real. Tough, mysterious and all about the hourglass.
