They may be some of Loose Women's most popular panellists ever, but Denise Welch and Carol McGiffin were almost airbrushed out of the show's history as it celebrated its 2,500th edition.
The ITV daytime chatshow, which has been on air since 1999, broadcast a special episode on Friday (29 April) to commemorate the milestone, looking back at the best bits of the past 17 years.
However, Denise and Carol's most memorable moments were both notably absent from the montage of old clips, despite them both starring on the show for nearly a decade.
The pair both quit the show in 2013, amid a raft of changes that were made to the 'Loose Women', including the reintroduction of former stars Coleen Nolan, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore.
Denise hit out at her bosses at the time, claiming the show had lost the fun.
Carol also hit out at the revamp, telling Woman magazine: “It’s nothing like the show I worked on for 13 years. They should call it ‘Cosy Chats Around a Lilliputian Table With The Audience On Your Lap’.
“Good luck to them. They’ll need it, as the ratings are shit.”
She later hit out at the decision to recruit Katie Price as a panellist, calling the show "desperate".
“I don’t know what she’s doing there,” she said. “But she’s got a lot of Twitter followers, and they’re desperate for viewers. I can’t believe those women are sitting with her.
“Where’s their self-respect? That’s why the show is so different, because they’re going for people with a lot of fans.”
'Loose Women' airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
