Lorde Slams Photoshopped Pictures On Twitter: 'Royals' Singer Says 'Flaws Are OK'

Lorde Slams Airbrushed Photos

Lorde was left unimpressed after discovering airbrushed pictures of herself over the weekend, taking to her Twitter page to vent her frustration.

The 'Royals' singer shared two contrasting photos of herself, taken from the same performance at Lollapalooza in Chile and encouraged her followers to compare the two snaps.

Seemingly irked at finding her skin had been airbrushed to remove its blemishes, Lorde sent out a tweet to remind fans it's OK to have imperfections, saying:

Lorde isn't the only star to express her frustration at being airbrushed, 'Harry Potter' actress Emma Watson has also criticised overly-doctored photos recently, telling the Sunday Times Style magazine: "With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that's dangerously unhealthy."

Emma also gave a similar comment to Lorde about embracing our imperfections, adding: "I'm excited about the ageing process. I'm more interested in women who aren't perfect. They're more compelling."

During her relatively short music career, Lorde has never been one to keep her opinions to herself, and has previously hit out at pop singer Selena Gomez for her single 'Come & Get It', which she claims portrays women negatively.

She has been praised by British singer Ellie Goulding, who said she admired that Lorde had managed to be so successful without "dressing like a skank".

Earlier this year the New Zealand-born star beat competition from Katy Perry and Lady Gaga to scoop the 'Best International Female' gong at the 2014 Brit Awards.
