Zara Holland might have surprised 'Love Island' viewers with her shenanigans with Alex Bowen last week, but it seems there was no one more shocked by their rendez-vous than her mother.
Cheryl Hackney has admitted she wasn't exactly impressed with her daughter's steamy session with her fellow contestant on the ITV2 reality show.
Speaking to Heat magazine, she said: "I’m really surprised by Zara’s behaviour – it’s definitely out of character.
"But, although it’s not her proudest moment, she hasn’t committed any crime.”
Cheryl, who fans also know as one of the antiques experts on 'Dickinson's Real Deal', also said that Miss Great Britain bosses were wrong to strip Zara of her Miss GB title over the incident.
"I'm disappointed they took her title away - I hoped they would understand that all young women make mistakes," she added.
Cheryl was speaking before she took ill over the weekend, prompting Zara to quit the 'Love Island' to be with her.
Newly-appointed Miss Great Britain Deone Robertson has also spoken out about Zara's behaviour on the show, claiming pageant bosses were right to decrown her.
She told The Mirror she “saw it coming”, explaining: “We are supposed to be role models for young girls and represent our chosen charities - she knew this.
At the time, the Miss GB organisation made it clear they had “no problem with sex”, but insisted: “We simply can’t condone what happened on national TV.”
Since Zara had her title taken away, almost 10,000 people have signed a petition with the hope that the pageant will reinstate her.
The star had previously expressed her regret of sleeping with Alex, having broken her own 'no sex' rule.
