ASOS has cleared up a Love Island fan theory about Danny Williams and Arabella Chi potentially knowing each other before entering the villa.
Danny and Arabella – who are currently coupled up – have both modelled for the fashion brand in the past, prompting many fans of the ITV2 show to speculate they may have known each other before signing up.
However, in a tweet posted on Thursday afternoon, ASOS confirmed that while they’re both former models, the pair worked at different times, and therefore their paths didn’t cross.
“So, we’ve been doing some digging, and can confirm that Arabella and Danny were NOT modelling for Asos at the same time,” they explained. “We repeat, they were NOT modelling at the same time. You’re welcome.”
It’s not just rumours about them knowing each other before entering Love Island that’s made Danny and Arabella’s romance on the show controversial, though.
The two came under fire from some of their fellow islanders when they officially coupled up earlier this week, which ultimately led to Yewande’s elimination from the villa.
Yewande’s friends Amber and Anna were unimpressed to see Danny and Arabella kissing, which sparked a row between the islanders, leading many fans to complain to Ofcom about the way things played out on screen.
Love Island fans are currently voting for their favourite couples, with the two pairs who receive the least votes in danger of being shown the door.
