Love Island's Marvin Shares His Thoughts On Latest Recoupling, After His Elimination

And he's not convinced Maura will give up on Curtis just yet.

Eliminated Love Island star Marvin Brooks has shared his thoughts on the latest recoupling, which led to him being axed from the show.

For the last week, Marvin has been coupled up with fellow Islander Maura Higgins, who he grew close with in Casa Amor.

However, when they returned to the main villa, things quickly turned cold between them, and in the last few days she’s been seen making a move on Curits Pritchard.

In Thursday’s episode, the girls were given the power in the recoupling, with newbie Francesca Allen picking first, and going for Curtis, who she admitted she had her eye on before entering the villa.

Maura was up last, and faced with the choice of Marvin or new boy Chris Taylor, she went for the latter, leaving her former partner on his own, and therefore without a place on the show.

Speaking after the elimination, Marvin admitted he had “no idea why it fizzled out” between himself and Maura, saying: “We just went our separate ways and I think that may have been because of the problems Amy and Curtis were having, who she had her eye on.

“She gave me the opportunity to come into the Villa and in this recoupling, she gave someone else an opportunity by coupling up with them.”

On whether he thinks Maura will back off now Curtis is paired with Francesca, Marvin added: “I feel Francesca is more Curtis’ type and I think their romance will blossom. But it won’t happen easily because Maura will definitely have her say in the matter.”

Earlier this week, Love Island bosses were forced to speak out over rumours that producers had pushed Maura into starting a romance with Curtis, following his split from Amy Hart.
