'Love Supreme' may be the name of a very famous John Coltrane track - but Jazz FM's first music festival offers far more than bebop. If you're after a grown-up festival with classy acts bringing you the very best soul, jazz, blues and funk, then the Sussex Downs is the place to head to this summer.
That's Glynde Place, to be exact - a gorgeous Elizabethan manor just 11 miles from Brighton and 1.5 hours from London. This is the setting for the very first Love Supreme Festival, which takes place on the weekend of 5-7 July this year.
Good times: Nile Rodgers and Chic
Boasting more than 40 acts on four stages - plus a dance tent pumping out both live music and DJ tunes - Love Supreme has programmed a great festival featuring both UK and international artists.
Roxy Music frontman turned jazzy crooner Bryan Ferry headlines the main stage on Saturday 6 July, where he'll be preceded by Daft Punk collaborator Nile Rodgers and his band Chic. Summer festival supremo Jools Holland takes the top spot on Sunday 7 July - the main stage also seeing a set that day from British soulsters Brand New Heavies.

The real excitement about Love Supreme, however, lies not so much in these well-known names but in the rare chance to see so many hot acts - especially from the world of jazz - in one place, over one weekend.
One ticket means you get to see Esperanza Spalding, Gregory Porter, Melody Gardot, Brandford Marsalis, Portico Quartet, Gwyneth Herbert, the Neil Cowley Trio - and of course so many more. Including multi-Grammy award-winner Terence Blanchard, a trumpeter who's worked with the likes of Herbie Hancock and Art Blakey.

A three-day weekend ticket for the festival costs £120/£100 for adults, £60/£50 for juniors, with/without camping. And if you are indeed planning to pitch a tent, a range of camping options are on offer: including VIP camping and pre-pitched tents.
You can get your tickets from the festival website. Here's hoping this summer's Love Supreme is just the first of many...
