Look away now children, this could be upsetting.
After splashing Colonel Gaddafi's bloody, grey corpse all over its front page, it seems the Daily Mirror has developed a taste for the morbid.
On a page 22/23 spread in Friday's newspaper there's a very unfortunate editorial meets advertising nightmare.
"Hot Peppa," says the headline followed by: "Why cartoon pig is loved by our children". The exclusive story goes on to explore how the Peppa Pig character has come to dominate the life of children.
Mother Pooky, 28, describes her child's fascination with the cartoon phenomenon. "To me, she just seemed to be this ugly pig. But Lyra pointed at it, pushed her nose up to form a snout and started oinking. WIthin two weeks she was hooked,' the Daily Mirror reports.
But fans of Peppa will be alarmed by glancing at the advertising which anchors the piece. There's a wonderful looking cooked and carved pork shoulder being sold for half price by a well known supermarket chain.
Poor, poor Peppa.
