Luke Shaw has received his first call up to the England squad for next week's friendly against Denmark at Wembley.
Shaw, 18, has been in outstanding form with Southampton this season and could edge out Ashley Cole for the second left-back berth for Roy Hodgson's World Cup party, along with Leighton Baines.
Cole retains his squad berth, despite a lack of game-time at Chelsea, while Manchester United's struggling midfielder Tom Cleverley is a surprise inclusion.
Hodgson has named a 30-man squad for England's final friendly on home soil before the Brazil finals, and will have to whittle that down to 23 for the World Cup.
Jermain Defoe, who has played just 36 minutes of football in two months and will join Toronto FC in March, is one of six strikers but there is no room for Andy Carroll.
Phil Jagielka is out injured, so Steven Caulker, who has won one cap under Hodgson, comes in. Raheem Sterling's excellent form has earned him a recall, too.
Adam Johnson misses out despite being named player of the month for January, too.
