Madonna Keeps Fans Waiting More Than Two Hours As She Kicks Off Madame X Tour

The singer's late arrival meant her first show ended in the early hours of the morning.

Madonna launched her Madame X tour in New York last night, but wasn’t exactly early to the party.

It’s been well-documented that Madonna’s relationship with her show’s scheduled start times is not the strongest, as proven on Tuesday night, when she kept fans waiting for over two hours for the show to begin.

This meant the performance didn’t get going until after 10.30pm, with things drawing to a close at around 1am.

Shortly after the performance came to a close, fans began sharing their frustration at the late start (and, indeed, late end) on social media.

We’re sure they’d have done it sooner, but the Madame X tour is a phone-free zone, meaning fans are required to seal away their devices as long as they’re in the theatre…

Despite the late start, though, it seems the singer still managed to impress those in attendance...

Because of the no-phones rule, only two photos from the Madame X tour have been released, which the singer posted on her Instagram page shortly after the show.

The tour is in support of Madonna’s latest album Madame X, which was released earlier this year.

In a change to her usual world jaunts, which see her putting on a show in stadiums and arenas, Madonna is changing things up this time around, performing in more intimate venues in fewer cities.

The show kicked off at the Howard Gillman Opera House in New York, where the show will remain until 12 October, after which she’ll travel to Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami.

Next year, she’s bringing the show to Europe, with 15 dates currently scheduled at the Palladium theatre in London.
