Madonna has announced the dates of her highly-anticipated new tour on the back of her stunning performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday - and confirms she's to play her first ever concert in Scotland.

The Material Girl will embark on her next global trek on 29 May in Tel Aviv, Israel and the European leg will stop off in 26 cities, including London, Paris, Milan and Berlin.

For the first time in the superstar's glittering 30-year career she will make a stop-off in Scotland. She will play the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on 21 July.

Madonna has never performed a show in the country despite choosing to wed Guy Ritchie in the Highlands in 2000. The pair famously brought the small town of Dornoch to a standstill when they wed in a lavish ceremony at Skibo Castle, a day after they had their son Rocco baptised at a nearby church.

The tour announcement comes in a week when the Queen of Pop has dominated headlines after wowing a TV audience of 110 million with her showstopping half-time performance at the US Super Bowl, which featured cameos from Cee Lo Green, M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. She performed classic hits Vogue, Open Your Heart and Like A Prayer, as well as brand new single Give Me All Your Luvin'.

After her tour of Europe, Madonna will head to North America, with dates schedule to last until mid-November. Ticket prices range from £45 to £125.

The singer stunned fans last week by defending the escalating price of her concert tickets - insisting she's worth every penny.
