Makhosi Khoza is set to make a major announcement about her disciplinary hearing this week, Business Day newspaper reported on Tuesday. The ANC MP told the paper that she would hold a press conference on Thursday outlining what she planned to do next.

Khoza is facing disciplinary charges in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) following clashes with the ANC over her strong criticism of the party and of President Jacob Zuma.

Her hearing was due to take place on Sunday, but was postponed.

A recent high court judgment in Pietermaritzburg raised questions about the legitimacy of her disciplinary hearing, given that the judgment nullified the KwaZulu-Natal provincial leadership by declaring its 2015 election null and void.

He is desperate to use his position as minister of police to speak ill of those who speak truth to power.

According to Business Day, senior ANC officials were due to meet the KZN leadership on Monday, but this did not happen because Zuma is in New York. Khoza has reportedly written to ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe and National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete to tell them that the KZN leadership could not discipline her because it is "void".

This week, Khoza once again took to Facebook to lambast an ANC leader. This time, she took issue with Police Minister Fikile Mbalula, who said that threats made against Khoza were made by a 17-year-old girl.

According to The Citizen, Khoza said: "Judge for yourself ... who is a liar between Mbalula and myself?

"He is desperate to use his position as minister of police to speak ill of those who speak truth to power. His utterances are nothing but desperation to make it in the ANC NEC in December 2017. Shame on you Mbalula? Who killed Sindiso Magaqa? Who killed Sbu Sibiya? I hope it is not the 17-yesterday-old from Gugulethu."

Meanwhile, she told Business Day: "On Thursday, I am planning a press conference to advise the media about this matter [disciplinary hearing] in light of the meeting that is expected to be held to discuss how to handle the court ruling."
