A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found dead at her home.

The body of Leanne Wall, 36, was discovered by police who were called to an address in Conway Avenue, Bury, just before 7.50am on Friday.

William Mack, 39, of no fixed abode, was arrested a short time later and has now been charged with her murder, Greater Manchester Police said.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Wall died due to compression to the neck.

In a statement released through police, her family said she was a "loving mother, daughter and sister, and a great friend to so many".

"Leanne was fun-loving and hard-working, she had a big heart and will be forever missed," it added.

Mack is due to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates' Court on Monday.
