A 57-year-old man has died following a flat fire, police said.
Firefighters and police were called to a ground-floor flat in Queen Street, Long Eaton, in Derbyshire, just before 10pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Police said: "A 57-year-old man was found deceased inside the flat.
"A joint investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the fire but it is not thought to be suspicious."
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to an explosion at the flat, which is thought to have led to the fire.
Crews from Long Eaton were sent to the scene.
Police officers remain at the scene today.
