Detectives have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after two women were found dead in a house in Liverpool.
A 42-year-old man from Anfield is in police custody after officers were called to a property at 9.50am on Monday.
The bodies were discovered after police received a call about concerns for the safety of two women at the house in Cathedral Road, Anfield.
Merseyside Police said in a statement: "A 42-year-old man from the Anfield area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody, where he will be questioned by officers.
"A Home Office post-mortem will take place to determine the causes of death for both women.
"The police investigation is in its very early stages."
