An enterprising fellow with a potentially relaxed attitude to the concept of ownership has built a robot that can steal from a vending machine.
In a video posted to YouTube, the French creator of the robot demonstrates how it works.
The robot - which cost many times more than a can of soda to build - is able to reach inside the machine, invert itself and grab a can of drink.
It then takes the drink out, still in the claw.
A disclaimer on the video by its creator, 'ioduremetallique', says that he does not endorse stealing, but that the robot is purely a 'conceptual' innovation.
