A man who was arrested after a three-day standoff with police over the weekend has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
The 46-year-old, who was apprehended at a London property on Sunday evening after surrounding himself with “hazardous items”, has been released on bail while a mental health assessment is completed.
He is due to return to Acton Police Station at a date in mid-December, police have said.
Police were called to a house in Wood End Lane shortly before 1am on Friday following concerns about a person there and hazardous items inside the property.
After forcing their way into the address police arrested the man on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis; affray and offences under the explosives act.
The Metropolitan Police said the property was then searched to ensure the area was safe for residents to return home.
Cordons were later removed but police said they will remain at the address for “some time” to examine the crime scene.
