A man is in hospital after being shot in an alleyway in Belfast, police said.
The 33-year-old suffered serious injuries in the attack in the north of the city on Friday evening.
Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have appealed for witnesses of the shooting to contact them.
A spokeswoman said: "A male believed to be 33 has been taken to hospital after being shot in an alleyway off Elmfield Street in north Belfast.
"Inspector Paul Noble has said the man has suffered serious injuries and we are appealing for anyone with information to contact police on 101.
"There are no further details at this stage."
