Greater Manchester Police investigating a racist tweet sent during Sunday's Manchester derby have made an arrest.
An investigation was launched following a message directed at Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand and a 15-year-old boy was arrested on Monday night on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
It is the latest fall-out from a tumultuous match in which United beat City 3-2 courtesy of a stoppage-time Robin van Persie free-kick.
Ferdinand was left with blood gushing from his left eyebrow after he was struck by a coin while celebrating Van Persie's winner.

City fan Matthew Stott then attempted to confront Ferdinand on the pitch but was restrained by the Citizens' goalkeeper Joe Hart before being arrested by police.
Stott, 21, has had his season ticket removed for the rest of the season by the Blues and faces a lifetime ban if found guilty in court of a charge of pitch encroachment. Yesterday he apologised to Ferdinand through his solicitor.
Gareth Barry has also been hit with a misconduct charge by the FA after using abusive and/or insulting language towards an official.
