Manchester United 4-4 Everton And Four Other Awesome Eight-Goal Premier League Draws (VIDEO)

WATCH: Awesome Premier League 4-4 Draws (VIDEO)

Everton had scored just four goals at Old Trafford in 10 years under David Moyes, but doubled their Premier League total at Manchester United's home under the Scot in one frenetic Sunday afternoon.

Nikica Jelavic's double as well as goals from Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar gave the Toffees their first point at Old Trafford since December 2005, as United's title charge lost valuable momentum.

It was another high-scoring match in the Premier League campaign, one becoming synonymous with defensive complacency.

So in tribute to the watertight-as-a-sieve defending on display in M16 on yesterday, here are some other foursome fixtures from yesteryear.

CHARLTON 4-4 WEST HAM, 2001/02

When it was announced this was the Monday night football fixture on the school coach, it was met with as much enthusiasm as a maths test.

Imagine the dismay when one loyalist revealed the following morning he had watched it, and it was 4-4. Paul Kitson's finest hour.

ARSENAL 4-4 TOTTENHAM, 2008/09

Harry Redknapp's second game in charge of Spurs, just the two goals were scored in a first-half remembered for David Bentley's teed-up, 40-yard volley past Manuel Almunia. Then, as Tottenham invariably do when they lose a lead, they capitulated.

They went 3-1 down and 4-2 down before Jermaine Jenas strike offered faint hope in stoppage-time. Then Aaron Lennon sensationally slotted in a 94th minute equaliser in front of a half-full optimistic-cum-delirious Spurs section.

LIVERPOOL 4-4 ARSENAL, 2008/09

Arsene Wenger's Gunners travelled to Anfield in April with little to play for in the Premier League, whereas Liverpool were vying for the title with Manchester United.

Like the north London fixture at the Emirates earlier in the campaign, the first-half was profligate, with Andrey Arshavin's opener the only goal of the opening first 45. Then Fernando Torres - at his dynamic best - got his groove on with a fabulous supporting turn from Yossi Benayoun as the pair scored twice each. The match however belonged to the roaming Russian.

NEWCASTLE 4-4 ARSENAL, 2010/11

It's them again! Folding is a worrying trend for north London clubs, and Arsenal's epoch came at St James' Park in February 2011.

Up 4-0 at half-time, Abou Diaby got stupidly sent off and the match turned on its head. Two Joey Barton penalties and a tidy Leon Best strike preceded Cheick Tiote's wonderful left-footed volley for a stunning draw.
