Colombian Leaders Pay Tribute To Iron Lady

Colombia's ambassador to the United Kingdom has paid tribute to Margaret Thatcher and thanked her for support during the notorious fight against drug trafficking in the late 1980s.

Mauricio Rodriguez, who has his official London residence next to Mrs Thatcher's home, told The Huffington Post UK said: "I am very sad for her death because she was a very important British leader, one of the most prominent of the world in the 20th century."

He added: "I had the great honour of having personal conversations with her a few times and was impressed by her intelligence, her character and her kindness.

"In Colombia we are particularly grateful to her for the great support that she gave us in the difficult years of the late 80s."
