The new 'Mario Kart 8' video game is almost here - in fact we're already playing it ahead of our review on 15 May.
But until the game is officially released on 30 May in the UK, it might be time to reflect on the intolerable cruelty you're about to inflict on the world. For Mario Kart might look fun and cute, but as anyone who has played it knows, it also has the capacity to inflict more rage and injustice than virtually any game in history.
NintendoLife have produced this beautiful, haunting video of slow-motion takedowns from the game, coupled with 'Adagio for Strings' by Samuel Barber.
The result is something far more melancholy, emotive and terrifying than we have ever seen from a game about cartoon characters racing around clocks and ski resorts.
This is all thanks to Mario Kart TV, the new replay feature at the heart of the new title. Our review is up on the 15th, and we can't wait to tell you what we think.
