Marion Cotillard has confirmed she is expecting her second child with her long-term partner Guillaume Canet.
The French actress, 40, revealed the news on Instagram when addressing speculation around her involvement in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce.
“This situation is spiralling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up,” she wrote.
“Many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need.”
Alongside the caption, Cotillard posted a colourful graphic with an image of a bird flying.
Since the news of Pitt and Jolie’s divorce broke on Tuesday 20 September, fans have speculated about Cotillard’s pregnancy. Cotillard called it a “whirlwind” that she was “swept up into”.
A source close to Cotillard’s family said, according to The Mirror: “Marion and Guillaume are blissfully happy. She looks absolutely blooming right now.
“She’s said that all she wants to do is to enjoy some quality time with Guillaume and their boy.”
Cotillard and her partner have been together since 2007and have a five-year-old son, Marcel.
