Mary Berry has revealed the first details of her next show for the BBC, now she has quit her duties for ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The former judge on the top-rated baking show has been given a new series, ‘Mary Berry Every Day’, which the BBC is reportedly planning to bring to screen next year.
Mary told Prima magazine why she’s so happy to concentrate on a cookery show, despite being offered all sorts of things by the corporation.
“I’ve been filming my own series – ‘Mary Berry Every Day’ – for next year.
“I love doing that, too, because I really get down to cooking. I was a guest presenter on ‘Woman’s Hour’, which was a huge honour and I enjoyed it. I’m very lucky to be asked to do what I do. But I only do the things that I really love.
“I love cooking – all sorts of cooking, not just baking.”
The baker, who is the only judge or presenter to be staying with the show in its new home, revealed that his friend and co-judge Mary had also said she would have gone with him, had she been younger.
Paul added that the extent of the abuse he had received from fans of the show on his decision to stay was as though he “had murdered somebody”.
She was also named the bookies' favourite, more or less as soon as Mel and Sue announced they were stepping down.
On Twitter, hers is the name we keep seeing crop up time and time again, either from people crying out for her to get the job, or pleading with Channel 4 not to give it to her.
In our opinion, it would be a bit too obvious, though, but we'd definitely be in favour of her forming a new double act with runner-up Tamal, with whom she got along like a house on fire in their days on 'GBBO'.
Like Nadiya, he too has managed to bag himself a career in TV, so we wouldn't be surprised if the offer fell at his feet either.
Julian is the undisputed king of innuendo, and his soft-spoken style lends itself perfectly to the 'Bake Off' tent.
He's also become a dab hand at light entertainment since his 'CBB' days, appearing on the panel of 'Your Face Sounds Familiar', as well as fronting 'Nature Nuts' and appearing on 'Give A Dog A Home'.
Hmmm.... maybe not.
Emma must be so stressed out interviewing the stars of 'Celebrity Big Brother' twice a year that we'd be quite happy for her to land a presenting gig that's a bit more... calming.
