Melania Trump’s spokesperson has hit back at rapper T.I.’s new promotional video, in which she’s portrayed as a stripper performing an erotic dance in the Oval Office.
In the clip, in support of T.I.’s latest album ‘Dime Trap’, a Melania lookalike is shown entering the office in the First Lady’s infamous “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?” coat, while Trump flies out of the country.
As T.I. sits at Trump’s desk, he’s seen smoking a cigar while the topless stand-in does sexual choreography on top of the table.
In a statement issued to CNN, Stephanie Grisham, Melania’s director of communications, has condemned the clip, claiming that stunts such as this cause divisions at what is already a time of unrest.
“Like it or not, she is the first lady and this is the White House,” she said. “It’s disrespectful and disgusting to portray her this way simply because of politics.
“These kinds of vulgar attacks only further the divisiveness and bias in our country ― it needs to stop.”
When T.I. first posted the clip, he addressed Trump directly, with the rapper insisting he “ain’t Kanye”, a reference to the ‘Ye’ star’s unique relationship with the President.
T.I. and Kanye previously debated about the latter’s public support for the controversial POTUS in a track released earlier this year, titled ‘Ye vs. The People’.
In the song, he was heard rapping: ”[This is] bigger than your selfish agenda, if your election ain’t gon’ stop police from murderin’ n****s.
“You gotta see the vantage point of the people, what makes you feel equal makes them feel evil.”
HuffPost UK has reached out to T.I.’s representatives for comment.
