A large meteor seen was seen entering Earth's atmosphere over Texas with reports soon suggesting that the meteor had then struck ground, causing the surrounding ground to shake.
The meteor -- captured on camera -- appeared as a green ball of light with a bright orange tail. Witnesses over a radius of hundreds of miles were able to see the meteor as it lit up the sky.
A dash cam was also able to capture footage (see above) of the meteor as it passed overhead.
The American Meteor Society reports that the sighting was to be expected after a large meteor shower was predicted to enter the Earth's atmosphere.
San Antonio local news has also reported that the ground was shaking, citing a meteor strike as the cause of the disturbance.
