Gemma Collins has described Mick Norcross as “a gentleman” as she led the tributes to her former The Only Way Is Essex co-star on social media.
The former Sugar Hut owner, who appeared on the ITVBe reality show between 2011 and 2013, died on Thursday at the age of 57.
Gemma was among many TOWIE stars past and present who honoured Mick on social media following the announcement of his death.
Sharing a photo of the two of them on Instagram, she wrote: “Always a gentleman.
“Absolutely shocked and saddened by the news. My thoughts and prayers are going out to Kirk family and friends. Absolutely tragic.”
Gemma continued: “The memories of the early days the Sugar Hut and the wonderful filming parties you put on will never be forgotten. You never know what someone is going through. You was one of the good guys.”
During his time on TOWIE, Mick memorably caught Gemma’s eye, with her attempting to pursue a romantic relationship with him.
Gemma’s ex-boyfriend James Argent also paid tribute to Mick, writing on his Instagram Story: “A true gentleman & a very kind man! RIP Mick.
“Many amazing memories, So Sad! My thoughts are with his family.”
Mark Wright tweeted: “RIP Mick N. You were a great man, an inspiration to many, always so polite and welcoming. Such a gent. We lost a good one.
“Let this be ANOTHER reason to check in on people and ask if they are ok. It’s imperative we talk.
“Love to Kirk and the rest of the family. Such sad news.”
Mark’s sister Jessica Wright also posted on her Instagram Story, writing: “Terribly, terribly sad. Always such a gentleman and so kind. Devastated for him and his family.”
Amy Childs wrote on Instagram: “No words. A true gentleman, I will miss you Mick.”
Harry Derbidge posted on his Story: “I am heartbroken, my thoughts go to Mick’s whole family and friends. Thank you for being so lovely and kind! A true gent.”
Mario Falcone tweeted he was “shocked and heartbroken” at the news.
“You were the perfect gentlemen and I am thankful I got the privilege of having you in my life,” he added.
Sugar Hut, the Essex nightclub that Mick used to own and regularly used to feature on TOWIE, also posted a statement on Twitter.
“So sad to hear the news today of the passing of Mr Sugarhut @micky_norcross,” it read.
“A very talented, friendly and fun guy, who made a huge mark on Brentwood. A true Essex legend who will be sorely missed, our condolences to his family and friends at this sad time. RIP Mick.”
Chloe Sims wrote on her Story: “Absolutely gutted. @micknorcross forever a gentleman, with the most gentle, kind heart.
“You will always be missed,” she added.
Mick was found dead at his home by Essex Police on Thursday, and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
A police statement read: “We were called to an address in Brentwood Road, Bulphan shortly before 3.15pm on Thursday 21 January.
“Sadly, a man inside was pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Mick was introduced to TOWIE fans in the second series as the father of established cast member Kirk Norcross.
He appeared in six series of the show until his departure in 2013.
