Miley Cyrus has no doubt found herself a few fans down after cancelling a concert on Monday night, just half an hour before she was due to go on stage.

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer was due to perform a gig in North Carolina as part of her 'Bangerz' tour, but ended up pulling out due to illness 30 minutes before the show was scheduled to begin.

Those who turned up were reportedly turned away at the door, which we can only imagine was most displeasing to the fans who'd turned up to see Miley sing, or at least gyrate a bit.

A spokesperson for Miley told TMZ that the star had the flu, and was too sick to perform her show.

It's no wonder she's fallen ill, just look at what she's been wearing lately - get that girl a cardigan and a pair of slippers, quick.

Miley seemed to confirm that she was feeling under the weather when she posted this tweet on Monday:

Of course, at the time we thought she was referring to emotional pain, having recently lost her dog Floyd, which she described as the "2nd worst day of my life".

Following the death of her pet, she performed a concert in Brooklyn on Saturday night and singing her hit 'Can't Be Tamed' with a 60-foot replica of the dog on stage.

She later dedicated a performance of the Coldplay ballad 'The Scientist' to Floyd, telling the crowds: "These have been the hardest days I have ever been through."
