Super-cool jewellery designer Anna Lou never expected she'd forge an international career from her market stall beginnings. Seven years down the line, Anna is recognised the world over for her quirky and quintessentially british rings, bracelets, necklaces and accessories. MyDaily caught up with her and talked sketch books, party girls and Calamity Jane...
When I look in the mirror I see... a grown-up version of my inner party girl, in a good way.
If I was stranded on a desert island with one dress it would be... my Missioni zig zag three-quarter length dress. If I could take any other item with me it would have to be my jewellery sketch book - I just can't live without it.
When I was at school I wanted to be... an actress. I've always been creative and I studied drama at theatre school. Making and selling my jewellery was something I did to support my acting, I just ended up making a career out of it. I really never expected one to lead to another. One minute I was selling pieces at Portobello Market and the next House Of Fraser were stocking my designs.
My biggest style triumph was... when I was younger I didn't just dress like everyone else. Although I wasn't on trend I used to wear what I wanted. I was a bit of a laid-back hippy and would put long paisley skirts, I made friendship bracelets, put flowers on everything and wore flares!
If I could be any character from film or literature I'd be... Calamity Jane for her ballsy and forthright nature. But I love that she's a real hopeless romantic at heart.
