A woman has been hospitalised after she was found pushing her dead infant son in a playground swing.
The woman was found in a Maryland Park on Friday morning after an onlooker noticed she had been pushing the swing for “an unusually long period of time” perhaps even overnight, WJLA reports.
It adds she is of no fixed address and was not identified by the authorities before she was taken to hospital for a mental evaluation.
The woman is believed to have been pushing the child on the swings overnight
The cause of the child’s death is not yet known, the Washington Post writes.
It cites the Charles County Sheriff’s Office as stating the body did not show signs of trauma.
WUSA9 reports the mother is 24-years-old.
