‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ creator Brendan O’Carroll has ensured that 2,500 families in need will not go hungry this Christmas, after donating dinners to them all.
The comedian has generously given vouchers for turkey and ham to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, for them to dish out to Dublin families who otherwise wouldn't have had Christmas dinner.

A spokesperson for the charity said of the donation, as reported in The Mirror: "The continuous generosity of Brendan is unbelievable. It is an imaginative yet practical way to help many families in need.
"Our volunteers know that the families who benefit from his generosity not only appreciate his action but take extra pleasure in knowing that it comes with the compliments of Mrs Brown, an iconic and internationally famous Dublin mother."
Brendan, who plays Mrs Brown is the hit BBC sitcom, has worked with the charity for many years, and thanks to his numerous donations, he received the Community Foundation of Ireland in January 2015.

Brendan will be back on screen in ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ for two Christmas specials this year, airing on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day on BBC One.
Despite being panned by some critics, the show has proved to be a ratings hit, with its 2013 Christmas special emerging as the most-watched programme in the UK that day, drawing in 9.4 million viewers.
Last year a film adaptation, ‘Mrs Brown D’Movie’, was released in cinemas.
