Relive One Direction's Amazing Night

America have loved One Direction for a while now, but now they have, not one, but THREE MTV VMA awards to prove it.

Needless to say it was a massive night for Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan at the bash last night, as they scooped the gongs for Most Share-Worthy Video, Best New Artist and Best Pop Video, fending off competition from the likes of Justin Bieber and Rihanna.

The British invasion started for the boys on the red carpet, where they rocked up looking super dapper in blazers and skinny black jeans and Louis also debuted a new be-quiffed hairdo (change it back Louis!)

As proceedings got underway, first up was the award for Best Pop Video, which was presented to them by Katy Perry, who Harry obviously managed to grab a cheeky kiss from. We'd watch out if we were you Katy!

Later in the ceremony saw them bag their second award where they beat off competition from their British boyband rivals The Wanted to win Best New Artist, leaving the 1D boys shocked.

"To win one Moonman is amazing, to win two is incredible," said Harry as they picked up the gong.

As they say, all good things come in threes and it wasn't long before the boys were back on stage again to collect the award for Most Share-Worthy Video, which was voted for by the fans.

But the lads couldn't head straight off to the bar as they had to make a quick change and return to the stage for their debut VMA performance.

The level of screaming reached new heights as they belted out third single One Thing surrounded by an army of hysterical girls.

Louis' girlfriend Eleanor Calder and Liam's missus Danielle Peazer could also be seen singing along in support of their men (they're on the second row).

"This has been unbelievable," Harry said backstage. "This was our favourite performance we've ever done."

After the bash was over, the boys took to Twitter to thank fans for their support on their incredible night.

They also received a message of congratulations from their very proud boss Simon Cowell.

He tweeted: "Congratulations 1D. I'm very proud of you. Celebrate!"

Don't worry Simon, we're pretty sure they'll be some very sore heads this morning.
