A mum was left “screaming” with laughter after buying a t-shirt online for her daughter that arrived with a rude slogan on it.
Kelsey Dawn Williamson from Illinois, US, says she regularly buys clothes on the internet for her three-year-old daughter Salem – and hasn’t had any problems before.
Last week Williamson, 23, ordered a top featuring the characters Frog and Mr Toad from Wind In The Willows from e-tailer AliExpress.
When the product arrived, it had the characters on – but also had the words “fuck the police” written underneath.
Williamson sent a picture of it to her husband and friend, and – when they found it funny – decided to share it on Facebook.
“What I ordered vs. what I received,” she wrote. “I cannot stop screaming. Who does this.”
AliExpress, based in China, is similar to Etsy – a retail space for independent businesses. It doesn’t produce the items itself.
The design is based on a meme of Frog and Mr Toad with ‘fuck the police’ written underneath. But Williamson says it was not the advertised product.
In fact, it was marketed to children. In the Facebook post, she also shared the original listing, which has been labelled to appeal to those searching for kid’s clothes. It had the caption - ‘Kids Two Frog Riding Design Baby Boys/Girl T-Shirt Kids Funny Short Sleeve Tops Children Cute T-Shirt.’
Williamson said Salem isn’t aware of what all the fuss is about as she can’t read the message.
The parents told BuzzFeed News they won’t be allowing their daughter to wear the shirt out in public – but will keep it in her childhood memory box for her to look at when she is older.
HuffPost UK has contacted AliExpress and will update the piece when they respond.
