By the time she was 21, Jessica Allsop was a size 26 and weighed 21st 6 lbs. She was so overweight that doctors warned her she wouldn't live to see her little girls grow up.

It was just the motivation she needed to go on a strict diet – and shed 10st 12 lbs in just 17 months.

Jessica, 23, from Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, is now a healthy 10st 8lbs. And best of all, she now has the energy to enjoy playing with her kids, Lily, three, and Bonnie, two.

"I lost my mother to cancer when I was 12 and couldn't bear the idea of my own girls being without a mum," said Jessica.

Jessica piled on the pounds because she used to gorge on chocolate and crisps, had chips for lunch and two double cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets for tea.

As a result, she suffered hip pain and got breathless after a few steps.

Now she sticks to salmon, chicken and veg - and plans to marry her boyfriend Dan Raine, 25.

"It's like I've got my life back," she said.
