Mum Natalie Lek plans to cook 200 Christmas dinners for those who will be spending the day of celebration alone.

The mum-of-five will cook from Christmas Eve morning right through to Christmas night.

With her team of helpers generous Natalie will cook a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings and deliver them around Stockport on Christmas Day to make people feel 'wanted and warm'. This is the second year Natalie has performed this selfless act after cooking 70 dinners for people in Accrington last year.

Those receiving the special dinners will include the lonely and the homeless with the help of a local homeless centre The Wellspring. Natalie is also working with home care providers.

"I will be cooking a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings," said Natalie, 35, from Marple.

"There will be crackers, Christmas pudding and everything you would usually get if you were sitting at your family's Christmas table.

"They will be delivered hot by my helpers and I."

This is the second year Natalie has performed this selfless act after cooking 70 dinners for people in Accrington last year.

The idea started after the mum-of-five spent last Christmas Day by herself as her children were with their dad.

Natalie added: "Last year was the first time I was not with my children on Christmas Day. I have been a mother since I was 16 so this was an alien concept for me.

"I came up with this idea as I would have been bored otherwise.

"For me the cooking is no big deal but for those on their own and receiving these dinners at this time of year it is a big deal.

"A lot of people are on their own at Christmas and feeling a bit down and this makes them feel wanted and warm and what Christmas is all about."

Natalie, who is studying law at university, says she has received an 'overwhelming response' from businesses and residents in Stockport who have donated food and their time.

Any food that is left over will be given to food banks.
