It's every parent's nightmare - a bus or train taking off with your child still on it. And for one Wimbledon mum it was a reality when a bus driver drove away with her child still on-board at the weekend.
The frantic mum was seen screaming after the vehicle as it went off with her child from the Centre Court shopping centre in Wimbledon, south west London.
An eye-witness recounted the incident on Twitter, saying he had seen the woman in 'obvious distress' and being comforted by other bystanders.
"I just heard her in obvious distress calling out about the bus, looked like member of public consoling her," @daysofspeed wrote.
"Bus 200 was flagged down, maybe to contact driver of different bus. Lots of help from public."
"She was - understandably - very distressed but calmed when I assume driver said he'd made contact."
The Wimbledon Guardian newspaper reported that the police confirmed to them that the mum was reunited with her child at around 7.30pm.
