Midwife award nominations

Would you like to say a special thank you to a midwife who provided outstanding support during your pregnancy and your baby's birth?

Mums can now submit nominations for a national award that honours midwives who provide exceptional support before, during and after birth.

The winner of the JOHNSON's Baby Mums' Midwife of the Year Award will be presented with his or her title on March 3, 2015.

Last year's winner, Caroline Burton, says: "Helping to guide each mother through birth is reward in itself, but to be recognised for this work and be nominated by a mum is a really special feeling."

This year's awards ceremony will be hosted by Kate Silverton, who welcomed her second baby, Wilbur, earlier this month.

The award is part of the larger Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Annual Midwifery Award. It is the only award category in which mums can nominate a midwife to win.

Louise Silverton, Director for Midwifery at the RCM says:

"The JOHNSON'S® Baby Mums' Midwife of the Year Award pays tribute to the fantastic work that our midwives do every single day. They help to inspire the next generation of midwives, and drive excellence in midwifery.

"We urge mothers to nominate their midwife so that excellent practice is recognised nationally."

If your baby was born between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014, you can nominate your midwife on the Johnsons baby website. Nominations close on September 22.
