Lifestyle blogger Lexi Pappadakisis completing her second year studying Exercise, Nutrition and Health at Kingston University but will soon be the nutritionist and exercise consultant the fashion pack are fighting over.
Lexi began her career working on shoots for Grazia and Tatler but her goal is to consult clients on nutrition and fashion as well as offering personal training. As would be expected from an aspiring lifestyle guru, Lexi's South Kensington stylish apartment is perfectly put together, fusing contemporary pieces with antiques.
Is there any correlation between your dress sense and interior style?
Not much really. In the winter, my wardrobe is ALL black and then in Spring/Summer it lightens up a bit. The only time I really wear bright colour is in my accessories but I rarely wear pink and there seems to be quite a lot of pink in my house and no black! So maybe my subconscious need for colour is coming out in my house.
There's the perfect marriage between modern and antique in your home. Where do you seek inspiration and where do you shop for furniture?
I love searching for antiques with my mum, especially French and Swedish pieces. I usually get my inspiration from interiors in magazines like World of Interiors and Elle Decor and online. I think the best way to decorate a home is to live in the space and to gradually realise what would look best and over time it will begin to evolve.
I still have lots of ideas for my place, such as colourful wooden painted stairs instead of carpet, a wallpapered hallway and new flooring in the sitting room.
Places I love to shop for interiors are The Shop at Petersham Nurseries, The Shop at Bluebird Cafe, Jensen and Ballantyne, Jonathan Adler, Anthropologie and Heal's.
What do you love about your area?
Moving from Notting Hill, it has taken me a long time to get used to being in South Kensington, but I love the buzz of the place because it is always so busy with tourists. I also love the architecture of the museums which are literally on my doorstep, and I'm lucky to have a view of the Victoria & Albert museum's dome from my flat which looks beautiful at night, all lit up.
What's the most impressive interior you've visited in the world?
A friend of mine has a gorgeous farm house in Provence with French antiques which have each been lovingly handpicked and collected from dealers and flea markets. My mum's house is a rustic farmhouse in the English countryside which is full of folk art and antiques from Sweden and France. On the flip side, I would die to live at Hotel Costes in Paris which is incredibly sumptuous, dark and romantic with candles everywhere. Once when I was staying there I didn't want to leave so enquired into how much it would cost to live there for 6 months but unfortunately it was slightly over my budget.
Could you describe your dream home?
My dream London home would be a town house in Westbourne Grove with lots of big windows and light. The interiors would be similar to my flat at the moment with splashes of colour against lots of chic French grey.
I'd love to have a really big kitchen with lots of space and needless to say I would kill for a walk in wardrobe! I've been thinking about converting the guest room...
How do you unwind at home?
I usually go to the gym in the evening which allows me to be totally relaxed when I get home. Then I have a big cup of Roobois tea and spend lots of time on the computer looking for fashion and interior inspiration while I wait for my boyfriend to get home from work so we can have dinner together. My favourite nights in are Lebanese takeaways on the sofa watching a movie followed by a big bowl of popcorn.
