These incredible pictures show the horn-like inserts schoolboy George Ashman had inserted into his forehead to get rid of a bright red birthmark.
George, aged five, had an operation to stretch the skin on his forehead so his haemangioma birthmark could be removed and covered with extra skin.
During the procedure, doctors put two tissue expanders under his skin. Over time, these expanded so much, it looked like George had two devil horns on his forehead.
Four months later the implants were removed and birthmark cut out, allowing doctors to stitch the new skin together, leaving the little lad with just a small scar.
George's mum, Karen said she was 'speechless' when she first saw the horn-like lumps:
'They were larger than I expected - and placed on either side of his tiny head looked like horns. My cute, angel-faced baby looked like the devil.'
George had the implants inserted into his forehead for four months, and was the target of taunts and abuse from passers-by when he went out in public.

'School kids hanging around on street corners were laughing and pointing,' says Karen.
'Once, a teenage lad came right up to us to have a good look. He uttered a cry of disgust. I was tearful and emotional. I had no problem loving my son but others' reactions were hard to deal with. I felt like everyone was against us.'
Now the implants have been removed, all that remains from George's surgery is a small scar on his forehead.
'What I'm most proud of is that through all this I've seen strength in George that I never had as a child,' says Karen. 'He's different, but he's himself - and he has never let it hold him back.
'My little devil's got guts - and with or without his birthmark and his horns I'll always love him to bits for that.'
