Describe your style.
A hint of Hollywood.
When did you first get hooked on vintage?
I was five. I was at a bring-and-buy sale and there was a rainbow-coloured diamanté brooch. It was 50p and I wasn't leaving without it! I had a love for all things from the past and I have been so lucky with the things that I have discovered along the way.
What are your favourite vintage-sourcing spots?
I love Sunday (Up)Market off Brick Lane for tweeds and wools. I adore Virginia Antiques in Clarendon Cross for divine silk dresses, Bellapacella at Spitalfields for my hats and the countryside antique fairs and auctions for vintage china.
What are your favorite vintage eras?
I would liked to live in my film collection - Gosford Park, Bugsy Malone (the children's version!), Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day and Coco Before Chanel.
Who are your past and present style icons?
Betty Blythe, a true inspiration! The Duchess of Cambridge on her glamorous nights out. Tallulah from Bugsy Malone. Coco Chanel and Marlene Dietrich for their striking look of androgynous outfits.
Any tips to tell if a vintage piece is worth investing in?
If you love it, chances are someone else will. Whether you can sell it is another question! I am a self-confessed clothes hoarder... let's hope my collection is of some value in the future.
What are some of your fave retro hangouts?
I love to have breakfast at The Wolseley - the decadent Art Deco setting is amazing. Evans & Peel Detective Agency is perfect for secret cocktails and for lazy Sundays, head to The Pear Tree Pub.
