A couple were left scratching their heads in disbelief after a rainstorm left a scattering of mysterious jelly blobs on their patio.
Debra Eull, of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, discovered the substance this weekend, Grand Forks Herald reported.
She told WDAY reporter Rob Kupec: “My husband and I were having coffee at the table and it had just rained. He happened to look out and saw what looked like hail.
“There wasn’t very many of them and I walked out and it was like a jelly substance. They were here after a rain, I have to assume they came out of the sky.”

The mystery blobs were referred to Minnesota State University Moorhead chemistry professor Jeff Bodwin, who believes the substance is a water retention gel, perhaps a silicone polymer similar to pellets used in potted plants.
The discovery is reminiscent of the results of a hail storm in Dorset in January, which sent 61-year-old Steve Hornsby running for cover as blue jelly-like balls fell from the skies.
Mr Hornsby told The Sun: “They were almost impossible to pick up, they were very jelly-like. I had to get a spoon and flick them into a jam jar. They had an exterior shell with a soft inside.
“It’s the most peculiar thing I have ever seen – there must be about 20 complete spheres. They don’t smell and they don’t float. I’ve been an aircraft engineer for many years and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
While Eull’s mysterious orbs are looking more and more likely to have simply spilled out of a plant pot and swelled in the rain, the blobs have been submitted for further chemical analysis.
